Fearless Sketchbook Workshop - All Levels

Saturday, June 20, 2026, 9:00 a.m. - noon

Develop a sketchbook habit by overcoming fear and intimidation.

Learn to make and use simple, inexpensive sketchbooks to transform your artistic practice.

Are you reluctant to make the first mark on that nice clean new page of your sketchbook? Maybe you’re afraid you’ll mess up the whole book with a bad drawing? Perhaps you’d really like to fill a sketchbook with beautiful drawings but you just don’t know where to start? Maybe you are intimidated at the shear amount to work and time it will take to fill a sketchbook. Do you lack the time or the patience to develop your drawing skills? Are you discouraged because your drawings just aren’t that good? Have you ever set out to fill a whole sketchbook only to leave it unfinished?

In this workshop we will learn how to make several different sketchbooks that will help you reimagine what it means to carry a sketchbook. In addition to making sketchbooks we will be discussing ideas about sketching and drawing that will encourage you and motivate you in your art practice.

students creating zentangle art

Zentangle Workshop - Beginning

Saturday, June 27, 2026, 9:00 a.m. - noon

Zentangle is an easy-to-learn and relaxing way to create beautiful drawings. Originally developed by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts, Zentangle is more than just an art form—it is a meditative practice that has been found to promote mindfulness, creativity, and personal well-being.

The joy of Zentangle lies in its simplicity and accessibility; anyone can begin without any prior artistic experience, using simple tools such as paper, pencil, and pen. Zentangle uses the phrase “No Mistakes” allowing you as the artist to focus on the positive energy behind creating the art, not the finished product. The instructor is a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) with over 13 years of zentangle experience, trained by the founders Maria and Rick.
